Massachusetts requires induction and mentoring for every first year educator under 603 CMR 7.12.
Every first year educator receives an induction program with a trained mentor.
A support team backs each beginning educator.
Professional licensure requires at least 50 hours of mentored experience beyond the first year.
Districts submit an annual induction report to DESE.
